and assistance to special crime prevention and enforcement programs, and perform

Detention Officers
CURRENTLY HAVE THREE DETENTION OFFICER POSITIONS AVAILABLE Platte County Detention
Officers are responsible for the security and well-being of the inmates in the detention
center as well as for the safety and welfare of the community. The Detention Center
has 18-20 positions for Detention Officers.

Controller
Detention Center Controllers are responsible for maintaining a secure environment
within the Platte County Detention Center. They operate and maintain a collection
of state-of-the-art camera systems, and also track and log in detailed detention
information, including a comprehensive visitor’s log.

Dispatcher
The Communications Division is in charge of all 911 Emergency management in Platte
County. The Dispatchers are responsible for receiving calls 24 hours a day, seven
days a week, and relaying those calls to the proper agency. In addition to these
duties, Dispatchers also run criminal histories for the office. There are six full-time
dispatch positions.
Administrator
The Administrative staff includes two full-time Administrative Secretaries who manage the day-to-day office duties for the Sheriff’s Office.
