Detention Officers

CURRENTLY HAVE THREE DETENTION OFFICER POSITIONS AVAILABLE Platte County Detention Officers are responsible for the security and well-being of the inmates in the detention center as well as for the safety and welfare of the community. The Detention Center has 18-20 positions for Detention Officers.

Controller

Detention Center Controllers are responsible for maintaining a secure environment within the Platte County Detention Center. They operate and maintain a collection of state-of-the-art camera systems, and also track and log in detailed detention information, including a comprehensive visitor’s log.

Dispatcher

The Communications Division is in charge of all 911 Emergency management in Platte County. The Dispatchers are responsible for receiving calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and relaying those calls to the proper agency. In addition to these duties, Dispatchers also run criminal histories for the office. There are six full-time dispatch positions.

Administrator

The Administrative staff includes two full-time Administrative Secretaries who manage the day-to-day office duties for the Sheriff’s Office.
