
COVID-19 Cases in Platte County, WY: Updated on 9/21/2020
A recent positive case from the weekend has resulted in an increase in close contact cases that will require a 14-day quarantine. Families have been notified and case numbers will be updated once investigations are complete.
[Platte County, WY, 9/21/2020] As of today, Platte County has had 23 quarantine cases (12 currently active, 11 closed), 14 positive cases (4 active as of 9/21/2020, 9 recovered, 1 death), and 6 symptomatic probable cases (5 active, 1 closed). Probable cases and close contact quarantines may change to positive as we receive more testing information.
Please know Platte County Public health, the Emergency Manager, and our County Health Officer are working hard to keep our community safe and the information shared is to keep you updated and aware of how our community is doing in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
As part of the process, people who have close contact with a person who tests positive for COVID-19 have been identified and contacted by the Wyoming Department of Health. Community members are notified individually if it is determined they are a close contact with the diagnosed COVID-19 positive person. Positive and probable cases are required to be in 10-day minimum isolation. Close contacts of positive cases are required to be in a 14-day quarantine starting on their last date of contact of a positive unless they become symptomatic during their quarantine period.
