The County Assessor's office is an information gathering office. We use the information we gather about properties to ensure the County's valuation is set accurately each year. The Assessor's office is responsible for assessing property taxes, however the Platte County Treasurer's Office collects the taxes.

Prosecutes on behalf of the people of the State of Wyoming in all criminal and juvenile matters;
Represents the Platte County Commissioner's in all civil matters;
Represents each Platte County elected official in the official capacity;
Provides legal opinions to the elected officials, boards and entities involved in Platte County Governement;
Represents the State of Wyoming's interest in all involuntary hospitalization proceedings;
Provide legal duties as prescribed by law.

District Court is the keeper of the permanent records. This office files, maintains and preserves all documents for court cases filed in Platte County for the Eighth Judicial District. The District Court handles the following types of cases: Adoption, Civil, Criminal, Juvenile and Probate.

The Board of Platte County Commissioners hold public meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of each month starting at 9:00 AM. Special meetings and public hearings are scheduled as issues arise. The Coroner’s Office is the legal / medical office mandated by the Statutes of the State of Wyoming to investigate and assist in the determination of the manner and cause of deaths occurring within Platte County. The Coroner directs independent medical and legal investigations of death cases that come under the jurisdiction of the office.
The Engineers office makes recommendations to the County Commission relative to the design and review of infrastructure projects including: road, bridge, pathway, miscellaneous building projects and floodplain management. The County Engineer coordinates work conducted in the County owned right of way, and works in cooperation with the Planning & Zoning office, Road and Bridge, and facility operators.

Emergency management involves participants at all governmental levels and in the private sector. Activities are geared according to phases before, during, and after emergency events. The effectiveness of emergency management rests on a network of relationships among partners in the system.

The Detention Division is 92 bed facility that consists of an Administrator, Deputy Administrator and 16 Detention Officers and three kitchen cooks, these positions are filled by civilian personnel. Detention duties consist of taking care of all prisoners incarcerated, transporting prisoners, extraditions of prisoners, and providing a safe and secure detention center.
The Planning Department is primarily responsible for the administration of various land use regulations included in the Platte County Zoning Rules and Regulations.

Our mission is to protect and promote the health of citizens of Platte County. The services we provide are population based. We focus on improving the health status of the population rather than the treatment of individuals. These services are based on three core Public Health principles:
~Public Health agencies assess the community health status and determine whether the community has adequate resources to address the identified problems.
~Use the data gathered through the assessment to develop health policies and programs.
~Assure that necessary, high quality, effective services are available. However, "assure" does not always mean to provide, but to see that services are available.
The Platte County Road and Bridge Department maintains 650 miles of paved and gravel roads with the county.

The Platte County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to the protection of the people of Platte County and the professional enforcement of local, state, and federal laws. In accomplishing our mission the men and women of the Sheriff's Office, who are themselves members of the community, will provide prompt and efficient response to those they serve. The Platte County Sheriff's Office values public trust and the confidence of our citizens. The Sheriff is the Chief Executive and Administrator of the Sheriff's Office. He oversees the Patrol Division, the Detention Division and the Communication Division. The Platte County Sheriff serves as an elected official, with a four year term.
Responsibilities of the County Treasurer include being the Investment Officer for county funds, book and recordkeeping of all monies received, issuing of vehicle registrations, collection of sales & use taxes, and receipt and disbursement of Federal, State & Local Government funds.
