The Platte County Health Department wants to remind all Platte County residents:
Wear a face covering in public places when you cannot distance yourself appropriately. Masks/face coverings are shown to be effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Just like wearing your seatbelt, taking your vitamins, washing your fruits and vegetables, defensive driving, and brushing your teeth, they do not have to be 100% to have a benefit that outweighs the risk. Face coverings and masks slow the spread to others.
Stay home when sick and to avoid contact with others unless you need to seek medical attention. Individuals with a fever, cough, loss of smell/taste, fatigue, chills, muscle aches/pains, and/or sore throat, should visit their healthcare provider. If you are having a true medical emergency, please call 911.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Cover your coughs and sneezes.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, countertops, faucets, sinks, phones, keypads, etc.
