The Platte County Planning & Zoning Commission is a five-member board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Commission members serve three-year terms. The Planning & Zoning Commission hears requests made by the public for uses of land, divisions of land, and to consider changes in zoning. After hearing those requests, the Commission is tasked with providing a recommendation of whether the requests should be granted, or not, to the Board of County Commissioners and whether those granted should have conditions attached. The Platte County Planning & Zoning Commission meets in the Commissioner Room, which is located in the basement of the County Courthouse, located at 800 9th St., Wheatland. To access the Commission Room after-hours, please use the handicapped public entrance, which is located on the southeast corner of the building between the Courthouse and the Platte County Detention Facility.
