Prevention

Platte County currently receives both state and federal grants from the Community Prevention Grants distributed through the Wyoming Department of Health.  Each county receiving the funding has a Community Prevention Specialist (CPS) who works with local coalitions to strengthen the prevention efforts within their communities.  The Community Prevention Grants provide funding to address prevention efforts in five areas:

-  Underage Drinking/Youth Marijuana Use

-  Adult Overconsumption of Alcohol

-  Tobacco Prevention

-  Opioid and Other Drug Prevention

-  Suicide Prevention

The Platte County Prevention Coalition is a community group working to provide resources, education and advocacy for mental health and substance abuse prevention.  Platte County is currently looking for members for the Platte County Prevention Coalition!   If you are interested in joining  the Platte County Prevention Coalition or have questions regarding the Platte County Prevention Program please contact:
