Family Resource Center

We are part of the Wyoming Family Resource Centers Collective.

The FRC Collective is a collaborative statewide network that has been formed to help establish Family Resource Centers or strengthen existing Centers across the state. The Collective is connecting organizations with grant funding and providing grantees with technical assistance and best practices for establishing a Family Resource Center in their community.   Family Resource Centers provide on-site health and wellness programs, services, resources and referrals, activities, and classes all in one place. They meet the needs of their communities, strengthening Wyoming families and individuals. If you would like to learn more about your local FRC, please click here FRC List.

What Are FRC's?

Family Resource Centers are a warm and welcoming place in the community where family members can access formal and informal supports/resources to promote their health and well-being, not only in times of need but as a regular part of day-to-day life.  They serve and are guided by the needs of those communities.  They are universally available with no eligibility criteria regardless of status or income.  FRC's can be based in a variety of locations, local education agencies, public health facilities, hospitals or homes.  They are funded by a combination of federal, state, local, and grant funds.

Our mission is to EMPOWER/COLLABORATE/SUPPORT & STRENGTHEN!

What Are The Goals?

To support families to be strong, healthy, and successful.
To contribute to building a strong and healthy community.
To reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect by offering families a safe environment to
obtain education and/or resources.

Your Local FRC

Our referrals and references include assistance with healthcare related items, mental health and counseling, transportation, legal, insurance, nutrition, food, utilities, aging support, workforce and employment, programs for children, disability programs and a variety of applications for both state and federal programs.  We are actively involved with various community partners and lead the CRC (Community Resource Coalition), which allows us to network and explore "challenges" our community is facing today and in the future.  Current programs include "Ollie the Owl", a learning tote given to a variety of local families. They are presented with a new theme and activities each month. The totes are designed to help with social cues, increase family interaction and emotional well-being.  We are also initiating a few food boxes for future distribution.  Future initiatives include learning sessions for finance, insurance, mental health, parent education, child development and nutrition.  Expansion services include helping homebound individuals, surveys and hygiene kits.

We are here to serve all of Platte County!
